Thode Door Thode Paas': Pankaj Kapur, Mona Singh and Kunaal Roy Kapur star in family drama; explores the need to unplug in digital age
The upcoming family drama 'Thode Door Thode Paas' will feature Pankaj Kapur, Mona Singh, and Kunaal Roy Kapur in lead roles, directed by Ajay Bhuyan, who previously helmed 'Amit Sahni Ki List' (2014).
Producer Manish Trehan said from the beginning, the project felt like a story that had to be told in this digital age. He called it a “warm, witty reflection” of modern life, where the biggest challenge isn’t surviving without Wi-Fi but reconnecting with the people who matter most.
Trehan praised the cast, calling the experience “incredible” and saying each actor brought authenticity and heart to their roles. He added that working with the creative team was a rewarding process and expressed excitement for audiences to experience a story that blends humor, heart, and relatability.
Produced by Manish Trehan, Shailesh Sanghvi, and Nailesh Gada, 'Thode Door Thode Paas' is scheduled to premiere on November 7. The makers teased it with the tagline: “1 crore on the line, will the Mehtas go offline? Experience the chaos of modern family life and the joy of slowing down.”
A story about connection in a disconnected world
According to a press release, the show centers on the modern-day irony of families who live together under one roof but remain disconnected in their own digital worlds. When an unexpected situation forces them to unplug, they rediscover the laughter, love, and everyday chaos of real connection.Director’s take on digital life
Director Ajay Bhuyan said the story stuck with him because it feels deeply relevant today. “We live in an age of constant digital noise, and this show explores what happens when that noise suddenly stops,” he shared. “It’s not just about going offline; it’s about finding what we’ve lost by being constantly connected. I believe 'Thode Door Thode Paas' will make audiences pause, reflect, and smile at how close we’ve become to our screens and how far we’ve drifted from one another.”Producer Manish Trehan said from the beginning, the project felt like a story that had to be told in this digital age.
