Parenting has never been an easy task, for anyone. Celebrity couples are not exceptions to the rules. The paparazzi culture is fairly new for Indian celebrities. While
Saif Ali Khan and
Kareena Kapoor's son Taimur Ali Khan is one of the most photographed baby in show business, there are parents who believe in maintaining a safe distance between the shutterbugs and their kids in order to give them a 'normal' life, cut undue attention and keep them out of newspaper headlines.
When we recently met
Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who is currently on a month-long vacay with her husband
Raj Kundra and son Viaan, we asked her what her take on the celebrity-pap relationship is. She told us, "I love the paps and they’ve all been part of my journey. As a parent, I would be scared if there was a sick person around who could harm my child. You’d rather teach your child how to conduct himself in public and how not to be too overfriendly with unknown people. Viaan has to be prepared that his parents' professional lives are going to rub off on his. There is no laxman rekha for me that I will only do so much work and leave everything out of my life when I walk inside my home. Today, Viaan is aware of the paparazzi photographers. In fact, he notices hoardings with my face on them and often when we are at our favourite restaurant, he even asks if the photographers are waiting outside. He knows his mother has a profession and these things are a part of it."
