Shankar Eshaan Loy’s playful tunes
The trio talks about the music of 'Taare Zameen Par'.

Loy Mendonsa (TOI Photo)There is an old adage that masterpieces are usually created in ignorance, a similar thing happened with Shankar, Eshaan, Loy, when they were composing music for Taare Zameen Par.
One day they were waiting in their studio for Aamir Khan to join them and were fooling around.
And they just happened to hit upon a new tune that got them very excited.
And that’s how they ended up composing the chartbusting song Kholo Kholo. “It’s a beautiful song. Actually we were just fooling around with each other in the studio while waiting for Aamir Khan to join us. Ehsaan and Loy were casually playing the guitar and we were just humming along with it.. suddenly in the middle of the chaos he came up with this tune that we all thought would be perfect for the song and when Aamir heard it he was very impressed. He insisted that we keep the song in the film. We decided to work further on it and develop it further. It’s a fun song and we were all very happy that it came out so well,” says Shankar. Now that’s what one calls making music playfully.
