Salman Khan has never shied away from expressing his admiration for veteran actor Dharmendra, and once again, the superstar spoke from the heart—this time on an international platform. During a recent interaction abroad, Salman paid an emotional tribute to the legendary actor, describing him as one of the biggest influences of his life.
‘I just lost a father figure—Dharma ji’
Opening up about Dharmendra’s impact on his personal and professional journey, Salman said, “I just lost a father figure—Dharma ji. I think he inspired me. I have always followed him and whatever I have done in my career... You know, I followed a hero, I followed Dharam ji.”
Reflecting on his approach to cinema, Salman added that his inspirations were deeply rooted in family values.
“On a script level, I have tried to follow my father. The only two people that I have been inspired by in a good way.”
When asked what it was about Dharmendra that left a lasting impression on him, Salman’s response was instant and heartfelt.
“The man. He is a very noble man. Very good man. Very emotional man.”
Over the years, Salman and Dharmendra have shared several warm moments on public platforms. Dharmendra has often referred to Salman affectionately as his “third son” after Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol—a bond that fans have cherished.
Salman’s fitness stuns fans ahead of 60th birthday
Meanwhile, as Salman Khan gears up to turn 60, the actor left fans stunned with a recent gym photo shared on Instagram. Captioning the post with his trademark humour, Salman wrote,
“I wish I could look like this when I am 60!” before adding, “6 days from now.”
Currently shooting for Galwan, Salman appeared in peak form in the photo, prompting an outpouring of reactions online. Among the many comments, producer Ekta Kapoor wrote, “At 45 also you look good sir.”
Talking about Galwan, the film is based on the Galwan stand-off between India and its expansionist neighbour, China, on June 15, 2020, during the thick of the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in India.
