Salim Khan health update: Salman Khan's 'Battle of Galwan' co-star Chitrangda Singh says 'he's doing well'
Veteran writer Salim Khan, father of Salman Khan, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on February 17, sparking concern among fans and colleagues. Several prominent personalities, including Javed Akhtar, Sangeeta Bijlani, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh and Rahul Roy, visited him following the news of his hospitalisation.
Chitrangda Singh, who is currently working with Salman Khan on ‘Battle Of Galwan’, recently reassured fans about Salim Khan’s condition while attending an event in the city. Speaking to IANS, she said, “He’s doing very well. I wish him all the best and good health.”
On February 18, Dr. Jalil Parkar addressed the media outside the hospital and explained the situation. He confirmed that Salim Khan had suffered a minor brain haemorrhage but responded well to treatment. “There was a minimal brain haemorrhage. A procedure called DSA was done this morning. No surgery was required. He is still on a ventilator. Hopefully, by tomorrow, he will be off the ventilator. Keeping in mind the age, the time of recovery is longer. He’s fine, he’s stable… All in all, he’s doing quite well,” the doctor stated.
Dr. Parkar clarified that ventilator support was used as a precaution rather than due to critical deterioration. “After initial diagnosis and medication, we realised he needed ICU care. We put him on the ventilator because we wanted to do certain investigations… as a safeguard so that he doesn’t worsen,” he explained, adding that reports describing the situation as critical were inaccurate.
