Always eager to entertain his admirers, the actor was gearing up for many more films. From signing up for a romantic comedy with rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty to planning a patriotic film ‘Vande Bharatam’ – here’s taking a look at films that Sushant Singh Rajput was in talks for.

Filmmaker Rumy Jafry was all set to collaborate with Sushant Singh Rajput and his rurmoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. Speaking to ETimes, the filmmaker had stated that they would have started shooting in May, had the lockdown not been imposed. “Sushant was excited about the project and kept telling me to start the workshops and rehearsals. The last time I discussed this project with him was in the first week of June. They were together on the call. In fact, it was Rhea who got him on the call. Then, on June 12, I had messaged him, and he was very excited about the project,” the filmmaker had told ETimes. The film in question was a romantic comedy.

After Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, his close friend Sandip Ssingh had revealed that they were planned a patriotic film titled ‘Vande Bharatam’. In a heartfelt note remembering Sushant, Sandip Ssingh had posted, “You promised me that my directorial debut will be with you. Raaj Shaandilyaa wrote this and we were to produce this together. I promise you this... I will make this film! And it will be a tribute to the loving memory of SSR who inspired millions and gave them hope that anything is possible! Just dream it and believe it! Those hours of discussions on this film we dreamed to make together...the film 'Vande Bharatam'...now all I am left with is your memories and this poster which was our dream starting to come true, this film my brother, will be the symbol of the undying light of your soul.”

Sushant Singh Rajput was fascinated with all things cosmos and was to feature in a Bollywood film about space titled ‘Chanda Mama Door Ke’, which was to be directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. While the film was shelved, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan had told ETimes that he was discussing new ventures with the actor. “We would keep talking about space and exchange material about it. We had finalised some projects to start off when the lockdown was called off,” the filmmaker had told ETimes.

Filmmaker Anand Gandhi has been working on a film about the pandemic and it was titled ‘Emergence’. Sushant Singh Rajput was keen to be a part of the venture, Anand Gandhi had told ETimes, “Over the last three months, we had discussed a lot of ideas that he wanted to be a part of, including Emergence. He loved that story very deeply, it was something that he kept bringing up. He told his assistants, managers and friends constantly that he wants to make it happen. Everyone wanted us to work together. I would have been delighted to actually turn our aspirations into something more concrete, into something that everyone could hold on to and look at.”
