Rohit Shetty credits Mukesh Chhabra’s casting vision amid 'Dhurandhar’s' record-breaking run
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, known for blockbuster entertainers such as 'Golmaal', 'Singham', 'Chennai Express' and 'Sooryavanshi', recently singled out casting director Mukesh Chhabra while speaking about pan-India cinema. His comments came in the context of Aditya Dhar’s 'Dhurandhar' and its remarkable box office run.
Instead of discussing budgets or scale, Shetty shifted focus to casting choices. He stated that he would only consider such a project if Mukesh Chhabra handled the casting. Pointing to Chhabra’s work on Dhurandhar, Shetty suggested that the film’s wide acceptance began with how its actors were chosen.
“TAKE A BOW ADITYA DHAR AND TEAM… YOU HAVE CREATED A MONSTER… RANVEER MERE BHAI… ‘APNA TIME AAGAYA’… HAPPY TO SEE AKSHAYE GETTING THE LOVE AND RESPECT AS AN ACTOR HE DESERVED FOR YEARS… YOUR JOURNEY FROM URI TO DHURANDHAR AS A PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR IS INSPIRING…”
The filmmaker also recently confirmed in an interview with ANI that he will now be focusing on 'Golmaal 5'. “I would like to take a break from the cop universe. I have been continuously working on cop films since 2008, but now I am really looking forward to making comedy films. Golmaal is coming next,” he said.
