Before Bollywood's first family's father and son share screen space with the Bachchan men, Rishi and
Ranbir Kapoor have finally settled on a project for their first ever silver-screen collaboration. And it seems that Ranbir's good friend and director Ayaan Mukerjee has given the father and son the perfect platform in his sequel to Wake Up Sid.
Reportedly, Ranbiralways wanted to star alongside his father in a home production. However, RKFilms has not been able to kick start their operations since 1999. And so, Rishiand Ranbir, who have been approached to star together in several films, havefinally decided that Ayaan's film is the one.
A source informed thatRishi will essay the antagonist in the film.
When contacted,
Rishi Kapoor told Mumbai Mirror, "I am not denying Ranbir and I are coming together in a film that is a sequel to one of his films.
Ranbir and I've hadinnumerable offers to star together. But nothing really seemed to fit, untilthis. Both Ranbir and I are very excited about it. All I can tell you at themoment is audiences who are waiting to see us together won't bedisappointed."
And even before the film goes on floors, audienceswill have a preview of the father-son on-screen chemistry.
Rishi andRanbir had just shot for an ad that was also directed by Ayaan. "Frankly I wasmore nervous than even Ranbir because the ad's concept demanded me to behavelike a typical, stern, disapproving father.
Now, in real life I'venever needed to disapprove of anything that Ranbir has done. And I've hardlyplayed that kind of 'Yeh nahin ho sakta, tum aisa nahin kar sakte,' kind ofbellowing father," added Rishi.
