Rajpal Yadav makes FIRST appearance after release from Tihar jail in cheque bounce case: 'Entire country, my Bollywood has loved me' - VIDEO

Actor Rajpal Yadav has spoken publicly for the first time after being released from Tihar Jail in connection with the Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case. The relief came on Monday after the Delhi High Court granted him interim bail until March 18, days after he had surrendered to authorities over the unpaid dues.

Shortly after walking out of jail, Rajpal addressed the media and expressed gratitude to his supporters across the country as well as members of the film fraternity. In a video shared by ANI on X, the actor was seen surrounded by his legal team while thanking those who stood by him. He acknowledged the allegations against him and said he remains ready to respond to them.




"Mujhe 30 saal ho jayenge Bollywood mei. Pure desh ka bacha bacha mere saath raha, isliye main 200-250 filmein kar paya. Bharatiya cinema ka bacha, buddha, naujawan mere kaleje ka tukda hai...mere saath tha aur mere saath hai. Pure desh ki janta mere saath thi. (I'm about to complete 30 years in Bollywood. Every person in the entire country stood by me, which is why I was able to make 200-250 films. Everyone in this country is a part of my heart...they were with me and are with me)," he said.

He added that he will always be there every time he is called by the the court and he will co-operate. "Yeh 2012 mei shuru hua, aj 2026 hai. Pichle 10 saal mei High Court ne jahan jahan aadesh diye hai, main hazir mila hu aur aage bhi jahan aadesh milega, main hazir milunga. Mujhe jis tarah se pure desh, duniya aur Bollywood ne pyaar diya, agar mujhpe koi aarop hai, toh main 100 per cent available hu. Thank you High Court, aapne mujhe sunne ka mauka diya. (This began in 2012; today it's 2026. In the last 10 years, I've appeared wherever the High Court has issued orders, and I will appear wherever orders are issued in the future. The way the entire country, the world, and Bollywood have loved me, if I face any allegations, I'm available to answer. Thank you, High Court, for giving me the opportunity to be heard)," he elaborated further.



The legal dispute traces back to 2010, when Rajpal borrowed ₹5 crore from Delhi-based Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to finance his directorial venture, Ata Pata Laapata. The film’s poor box office performance led to financial difficulties, eventually escalating into a legal battle. In April 2018, a Magistrate’s Court convicted Rajpal and his wife Radha under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act after seven cheques issued to the complainant were dishonoured. He was sentenced to six months of simple imprisonment, a decision later upheld by a Sessions Court in early 2019.
