In this new social media era, the use PR is quite high and even though it can be beneficial to an extend, majority of such PR activities are also used to tarnish the reputation of actors or even degrading a film.
Radhikka Madan has now spoken strongly against the growing trend of paid negative PR in the film industry. The actress said she never wants to have so much free time that she starts planning bad things about others and believes one should focus on their own work instead of pulling others down. Radhikka shared her views in a recent interview with News 18.
Radhikka Madan said about negative PR
Radhikka gave a clear reply on negative PR, “May God never give me so much free time that I start doing things like this. Please, God, never leave me so idle that I sit and plan what bad things I should say about others. I truly believe you can never rise by pulling someone else down. Keep working hard, keep doing your work with honesty, and keep growing.” She feels people should stay busy with their own journey.
Space for everyone to shine
Radhikka believes there is enough room at the top for many people, “I also feel that there isn’t space for just one person at the top, there are many stars in the sky. I have always been someone who lifts people up, and I just hope I never have enough time to do something like this.”
How she handles trolls
The 'Subedaar' actress has faced a lot of trolling since her early days. People have criticised her looks and choices. Talking about it, she said, “Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna. I believe you can never make everyone happy. No matter what you do, there will always be people who like it and others who don’t. No matter your size or how you look, people will always have opinions. You should know yourself, who you are and what you stand for. You should feel great about yourself.”
Emotional reaction to Hansal Mehta’s praise
Radhikka was moved when filmmaker Hansal Mehta praised her performance in Subedaar. He said she deserves better roles and more opportunities.
As quoted by Hindustan Times, she shared, "When I first read that, I was almost teary-eyed because when you come into this industry, you need to make a mark for yourself, and you want to be noticed by these veteran, legendary filmmakers. When you get that kind of acknowledgement and support, and if somebody like him feels for you, takes your side, or gives a voice to whatever you have been feeling for so many years, it just means a lot." She said it has made her even more passionate about her work.
