‘Pushpa 2’, Jab We Met’, ‘Dostana’: 6 movies that were shot at dangerous locations

Bollywood filmmakers choose exotic locations to shoot their movies. Even after we have watched the movie, the scenic locales stay with us for a long time. However, did you know that many have shot films in some dangerous locations too? Yes, you read that right! Right from ‘Jab We Met’ being shot at Rohtang Pass to the latest ‘Pushpa 2’ being shot at Swabhiman Anchal, here we take a look at films that were shot at dangerous locations.

‘Pushpa 2’

After the super success of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, the makers are all set with the second instalment of the Allu Arjun starrer. While the first look poster of the actor from the second part has already raised the anticipation level amongst the fans, reports are now rife that it will be shot at Swabhiman Anchal. Swabhiman Anchal was earlier an isolated land surrounded by water on three sides. It was also reportedly a no-go zone for civil and police administrations. It is being said that the makers got permission from the Malkangiri District Collector. They will reportedly start shooting in May.

‘Jab We Met’

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Jab We Met’ is undoubtedly one of the most loved films in Bollywood. The Imtiaz Ali directorial was shot at Rohtang Pass. ‘Rohtang’ means ‘ground of corpses’ and is located at an altitude of more than 13, 000 feet on the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas. It is reportedly one of the most dangerous passes because of bad weather and unpredictable storms, which have caused many deaths in the past.

‘Don: The Chase Begins’

While fans are eagerly waiting for the third instalment of ‘Don’, we have an interesting fact about Farhan Akhtar’s directorial ‘Don: The Chase Begins’. Many of the scenes from the Shah Rukh Khan starrer were shot at the Petronas twin towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 1500 feet high towers are connected by sky bridges on the 41st and 42nd floors. Not only this, these bridges are around 558 feet above the ground.

‘Kabul Express’

John Abraham and Arshad Warsi’s ‘Kabul Express’ was reportedly filmed at ‘Kandahar’, which is the second largest city in Afghanistan. It comes as no surprise that Afghanistan has reportedly been home to many terrorist groups like Al-Qaida and Taliban. It is also considered a place where explosions happen every now and then. Hats off to the team ‘Kabul Express’ for risking their lives to shoot there.

‘Love Story 2050’

Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja starrer ‘Love Story 2050’ might not have impressed many with its story telling, but it sure did with its choice of location to shoot. The makers shot a song for the film on Australia’s Kangaroo Island. Apart from being the third largest island in Australia, it is also an island that has one-fifth of the burnt land because it is prone to lightning strikes. Several ships have been wrecked along the coastline of the island, and many people have lost their lives due to this to date.

‘Dostana’

Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana’ starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra was shot in Miami, Florida. If you are wondering why this place with the most beautiful and picturesque locales is on this list, let us tell you that Miami is known for its life-threatening natural disasters. The hurricanes and storms there have caused much destruction and killed numerous people to date. However, thankfully, team Dostana did not face many problems while shooting at this place.
