Pulkit Samrat opens up about his intense transformation for his OTT debut ‘Glory’: 'It’s a dream character for me'
Pulkit Samrat is finally ticking off a long-standing item from his acting bucket list by playing a boxer in ‘Glory’. The sports crime drama marks his first outing as a leading man in the OTT space, and the actor admits the role feels deeply personal. “It’s a dream character for me,” he shares, reflecting on how long he had hoped to explore this territory.
Talking about the filming experience to Mid-Day, Pulkit reveals that the shoot wrapped up in mid-2025 and demanded serious physical and mental endurance. “The process has been intense, yet addictive,” he says with a smile, adding that the world of boxing required discipline, grit, and sustained training throughout the schedule.

For the actor, choosing demanding parts like this is essential to artistic growth. “Otherwise everything becomes formula-driven. People start saying, ‘This is what works and this is what sells.’ That’s not why we became actors,” he explains. Emphasising the need to push boundaries, Pulkit adds, “You have to step out of your comfort zone and give the audience something they haven’t experienced before.”Making his OTT lead debut
Set to stream on Netflix, ‘Glory’ blends the worlds of competitive sports and crime into a high-stakes narrative. The series, created by Karan Anshuman and Karmanya Ahuja and backed by Atomic Films, stars Pulkit alongside Divyenndu Sharma and Suvinder Vicky in pivotal roles. The story revolves around a celebrated boxing coach and his two estranged sons, whose Olympic ambitions clash with buried secrets and a thirst for revenge.Looking back at Pulkit Samrat's recent work
Pulkit was last seen in the third instalment of the hit franchise ‘Fukrey’, which released in 2023 and was warmly received by audiences. With ‘Glory’, he now gears up to present a grittier, more physically demanding side of himself, one that has been years in the making.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”end of article
