Political biopics to look forward to

Biopics are based on the life stories of renowned personalities is mostly well-received by the audience and they perform well at the box-office too. Over the years, Biopics have garnered both audience’s love and critical acclaim. Politics also has been an inspiration to a lot of filmmakers in Bollywood. Making a biopic on a life of a politician can be a tough job as politics has always been a controversial subject and the playing the role of the politician has to be cautious in his approach while working on such films. 'Thackeray'

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to play the role of Shiv Sena founder and president Balasaheb Thackeray in the upcoming biopic- ‘Thackeray’. This movie is directed by Abhijit Panse and will be released in both Hindi as well as Marathi language. The film is scheduled to release on 25th January year. Nawazuddin was very glad when he got the opportunity to play the role of the party founder as his life story was very interesting.

'The Accidental Prime Minister'

Anupam Kher, who already has two National award in his kitty will be seen playing the role of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. This film is based on Sanjay Baru’s book ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. Anupam Kher took his twitter handle to share the first look of the film. When he was asked about the film in the interviews he replied that he has been told not to talk about it. The film stirred a lot of controversies since the day it was announced. The film also released in Tamil and Telugu.

'PM Narendra Modi'

Recently, the makers of the film released the first poster of the film and revealed that Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi would be essaying the role of PM Modi in the movie. The movie is titled "PM Narendra Modi". This particular film is going to be released in 23 languages across India.The rest of the cast is yet to ne announced. The film will be shot across Gujarat, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other locations in the country. As soon as the film was announced, it stirred controversy as it soon after the trailer launch of ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ starring Anupam Kher.

‘The Tashkent Files’

After ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, this is another film that will raise a storm in political circles. The film is based on mysterious circumstances under which the second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri died in Russia. “On January 10, 1966, Shastri had signed the Tashkent Agreement and hours later he passed away. His sudden demise was a mystery unsolved till date. Immediately after his demise, the family members of Shastri officially requested a post-mortem to the then acting Prime Minister Gulzarilal Nanda.
