Physical abuse, keeping marriage a secret, drug abuse: Shocking allegations made against Yo Yo Honey Singh by his wife Shalini Talwar
Yo Yo Honey Singh hit headlines when his wife Shalini Talwar filed a domestic violence act against the musician, leveling several serious allegations against him. The case was filed under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act seeking protection and other reliefs. On August 3, Delhi's Tis Hazari Court passed an interim order in favour of Shalini Talwar and gave Honey Singh time till August 28 to file his response. Incidents of abuse
In her plea, Shalini has alleged that she has been subjected to numerous incidents of physical, verbal, and mental abuse at the hands of her husband. In her 120-page application, Shalini has revealed details about Honey Singh’s abusive behaviour from their honeymoon in Mauritius. She has stated that after Honey Singh’s fan following increased, his attitude changed towards her and that he became 'rude, brash, aggressive, contemptuous and disrespectful'.

Lying about their wedding
Yo Yo Honey Singh and Shalini had tied the knot on January 23, 2011, and now she has revealed that, for a long time, Honey Singh wanted to keep their relationship a secret. In her application, Shalini has revealed that in 2011, when a picture from their wedding went viral, Honey Singh panicked and then mercilessly beat her, accusing her of releasing their wedding pictures because he wanted to keep his marital status a secret so that it wouldn’t hamper his stardom. Honey Singh’s team reportedly promoted the picture as a movie still and not a wedding picture.
Money matters and drug abuse
Shalini’s complaint also reportedly stated that Honey Singh used to get payments in cash but she was not made privy to it. She revealed that the musician, at one point in time, started earning Rs 4 crore a month from songs, performances and royalties and it is around the same time that he got addicted to alcohol, drugs, and anabolic drugs.

Extra-marital affair
Shalini and Honey Singh had been secretly dating for almost two decades, and for a long time, Honey Singh had not disclosed his marital status to the world. In her application, Talwar has reportedly stated that her husband would engage in physical relationships with multiple women. And then she even found out about his affair with a Punjabi actress. Shalini stated that Honey Singh had then promised to break up his relationship with the actress and stay loyal to her.
