After featuring with
Jugal Hansraj and
Anupam Kher in 'Papa Kehte Hain', Mayuri Kangoo became a well-known face of the '90s, the film even boasted of the timeless song ‘Ghar Se Nikalte Hi’, which had recently been rehashed and remixed by newer artists. The actress had left the world of showbiz in early 2000s to join the corporate world as she now works with
Google.
From becoming a household name with
Mahesh Bhatt’s film ‘Papa Kehte Hain’ to now living a successful life as Google India’s industry head – agency business, Mayoori has carved a different path for herself.
Mayoori started young in the world of entertainment as at the age of 15. She chose films over getting enrolled in IIT Kanpur and went on to make her acting debut with National Award-winning film ‘Naseem’ (1995). She later appeared in movies like ‘Papa Kehte Hain’, ‘Betaabi’, ‘Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet’, ‘Badal’ and ‘Papa the Great’.
She also did shows like ‘Kaahin Kissii Roz’, ‘Kittie Party’, ‘Kkusum’ and ‘Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat’.
She shared the screen space with big stars like Ajay Devgn, Anupam Kher,
Arshad Warsi, Shakti Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rani Mukerji, Chandrachur Singh and Jugal Hansraj.
While she kept getting offers, she left it all to get married to NRI Aditya Dhillon in December 2003, shifting base to the US soon after. She later pursued an MBA in marketing and finance from City University of New York-Baruch College – Zicklin School of Business.
She started work there with a New York City-based digital agency called 360i as an associate media manager. She worked in the US from 2004 till 2012. Mayoori returned to India and settled down in Gurgaon after her son was born. She now shuttles between three cities -- Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
