Pahlaj Nihalani prayer meet: Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Jackie Shroff and others gather to pay respects

The Hindi film industry came together in Mumbai to remember veteran producer Pahlaj Nihalani during a prayer meeting held on June 6. Actors and film personalities from different generations attended the gathering and paid their respects.Many familiar faces from the film industry arrived at the prayer ceremony in Mumbai. Celebrities gathered to remember the producer and honour his long association with Indian cinema. As reported by India Today, actor Anil Kapoor attended the prayer ceremony and offered condolences to Nihalani's family members. Rajpal Yadav also arrived to pay his respects during the gathering. Veteran actress Hema Malini joined the ceremony and remembered the filmmaker. Jackie Shroff attended the prayer meet and paid tribute to Nihalani's contribution to cinema. Anupam Kher was also present among those who gathered to remember him. Shatrughan Sinha attended the event, while Govinda too visited the prayer ceremony and offered his final respects.Pahlaj Nihalani remained associated with the Hindi film industry for several decades. During his career, he established himself as a producer and became a familiar name in the industry. Apart from filmmaking, he also served as the former chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification.Reports stated that the veteran filmmaker passed away on June 4 after experiencing health-related issues. His last rites were conducted on the same day in Mumbai. The cremation ceremony reportedly took place at the Santacruz crematorium during the afternoon.Following his passing, the family released a statement informing people about the funeral arrangements. The statement read, "With profound grief, we inform you of the passing of our beloved Pahlaj Nihalani on 4th June 2026. The cremation ceremony will be held today, 04.06.2026 at 3 pm at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers as we bid a final farewell."
