Taking on the makers of controversial Hindi movie ‘Padmaavat’, the senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar said that they should not hurt the sentiment of Rajputs by tempering the things. The picture should be released for screening only after making some necessary changes, he added.
Kumar was in Varanasi on Tuesday to take part in a programme organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at Gandhi Adyayan Peeth, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith.

“Anything that hurts one’s sentiment should not be portrayed, but the makers of this film did not take care of such things,” he said while talking to reporters. He said that he had asked the filmmakers three months back not to depict any controversial thing that hurts the sentiment of Rajputs.
“They invited me to see the picture, but I did not go to the pre-release screening. I asked them to show it to Rajputs rather than showing others, and make required changes as per their suggestion,” he said adding that Rajputs’ protest against the film clearly shows that it has hurt their sentiment.
