Ooruku Nooruper to open IFFI

NEW DELHI: B Lenin's Tamil venture Ooruku Nooruper (A Hundred Voices for a Cause) will be the inaugural film in the feature film category of the Indian panorama section of the 32nd International Film Festival of India to be held in Bangalore in October this year.

new delhi: b lenin's tamil venture ooruku nooruper (a hundred voices for a cause) will be the inaugural film in the feature film category of the indian panorama section of the 32nd international film festival of india to be held in bangalore in october this year. the 13-member indian panorama feature film jury headed by chairman shaji n karun presented a list of 30 films selected for screening to information and broadcasting minister sushma swaraj here on saturday. the other regional language films selected for the panorama section are "mansur mianr ghor" directed by nabyendu chatterjee, "munnudi" by p sheshadri, "bharati" by gynana rajasekharan, "kutti" by janaki viswanathan, "bariwali" by rituparno ghosh, "mathadana" by t n seetharam, "bas yaari rakho" by gopi desai, "the goal" by gul bahar singh, "sayahnnam" by r sarath, "jalamaranam" by t k rajeev kumar, "kadal pookkal" by bharati raja, "dejavu" by biju viswanath, "swapner sandhaney" by ashhoke viswanathan. "neela" by t s nagabharana, "hindustan the mother" by g hari babu, "uttara" by buddhadeb dasgupta, "dhyaas parva" by amol palekar, "mazha" lenin rajendran, "preminchu" by bonia subba rao, "massanje" by p r rama das naidu, "deham" by govind nihalani, "dekha" by gautam ghose, "laado" by ashwini chaudhury, "astitva" (marathi) by mahesh manjrekar and jairaj's "shantham" which won the 48th national film award. the hindi films to be shown in the section are "lagaan" by ashutosh gowrikar, "zubeida" by shyam benegal, "bawandar" by jagmohan mundhra and "kaali salwar" by fareeda mehta. the selection was made "unanimously" from among 103 films viewed by the jury, an official release said.
