Only 10-12 crores riding on Shiney

Bollywood not in a tizzy about actor's saga.
Only 10-12 crores riding on Shiney
The Shiney Ahuja saga continues.
The actor remains in police custody until tomorrow for the alleged rape of his maid servant. And while Bollywood is in a state of shock over this, the trade itself isnt in a tizzy because there is only Rs 10-12 crores riding on the actor at this point.
Shiney has four films on hand Jahnu Baruas Har Pal with Preity Zinta, Anurag Chaudharys Accident with Soha Ali Khan, Vinod Pandes Chalu Movies Inc.

and an international project Silver Cord with Val Kilmer.
Trade analyst Komal Nahata says, The only films that will be affected are Pritish Nandys Accident and Chalu Movies, that has just begun. The second film may need some rescheduling depending on when the actor gets bail/permission to shoot. The international project is still to begin. Since we cant put a budget to it, it is not being counted at all. As for Har Pal the film is complete and will be sold on Preity Zintas name. The film may just stand to benefit from the free publicity it may get.
To which Ram Kamal Mukherjee of Pritish Nandys production responds, Accident is 90 per cent complete. We can go according to our original schedule because the balance shooting is mainly with Soha Ali Khan. Of course, the dubbing remains.
While trade expert Taran Adarsh is of the opinion, The film industry hardly stands to lose much as far as monies riding on Shiney go. But the actor himself stands to lose his personal reputation. An incident such as this is a personal setback.

Director Sudhir Mishra is keen to make a film with Shiney and Chitrangada Singh and though Sudhir is very clear that this unfortunate incident will not make him change his mind about casting Shiney, he says the project itself is on hold because he is currently making a film with Neil Nitin Mukesh.
