In 1949, Mehboob Khan made <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andaaz</span>, which starred Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Nargis and was billed as the love triangle to beat all love triangles.<br /><br />Cut to 2003. There’s another <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andaaz.</span> And another love triangle.

"But beyond the title and theme, my movie has nothing to do with Mehboob Khan’s <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andaaz</span>," asserts the film’s director Raj Kanwar, "My <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andaaz</span> is inspired by the real-life story of an IAF pilot. The final product is an emotional love story which appears to be a love triangle, but is actually not."<br /><br />What this Akshaye Kumar, Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra-starrer actually is will only be known when it is released in April, but till then, <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andaaz </span>producer Suneel Darshan sticks to the ‘it’s different’ line. <br /><br />"I don’t want to sound cliched, but <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andaaz</span> is different because of the way its central characters have been treated. I chose Raj to direct the film because he has delivered eight silver-jubilee hits. Nadeem and Shravan, on their part, have composed a soulful music score."<br /><br />Looking forward to making their debut in tinsel town are former Femina Miss Universe Lara Dutta and former Femina Miss World Priyanka Chopra. "I am more than happy with the way the film has shaped up and looking forward to being accepted as an actress," says Priyanka.<br /><br />Lara, on her part, sounds thrilled: "After all, <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Andaaz</span> is my ticket to filmdom." Everybody is <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">maha </span>excited, but nobody is spilling the beans on which girl gets Akshaye Kumar in the end.
