O Romeo & Tu Yaa Main Movie Review and Box Office Collection: Shahid Kapoor starrer takes the lead over Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav's romantic drama
The Valentine’s Day weekend box office battle is officially underway! Shahid Kapoor’s gritty thriller 'O’Romeo', and the Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav romantic drama 'Tu Yaa Main' are all set to release in cinemas today, February 13. Coming in just in time for the season of love, both films will try to benefit from the Valentine's day weekend. 'O' Romeo', co-starring Triptii Dimri and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, is mounted as a stylised underworld saga. The film has also generated strong buzz thanks to its posters, teaser, songs and trailer. Shahid has generated interest among fans to see him step into the shoes of ruthless gangster Hussain Ustara, while Triptii plays his love interest, Afsha. As per reports, her character is inspired by Ashraf Khan, aka Sapna Didi, who allegedly plotted to kill Dawood Ibrahim.O’Romeo draws from Hussain Zaidi’s Mafia Queens of Mumbai, promising a mix of crime, passion and high-stakes drama.Meanwhile, ‘Tu Yaa Main’ has been struggling to build pre-release momentum. The film starring Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav in lead roles, is reportedly adapted from the 2018 Thai film 'The Pool'. As per reports, the film follows two social media influencers from vastly different worlds who collaborate, fall in love, and find their lives spiralling in unexpected directions. As far as the box office is concerned, 'O' Romeo' is off to a solid start at the box office. As per early reports, the film has already minted Rs 3.5 crore gross in advance bookings while the total with blocked seats has shot up to Rs 5.9 crore. The film has reportedly sold over 1.8 lakh tickets.'Tu Yaa Main', on the other hand, has not released presale data, however, 52.1K users have marked interest on BookMyShow. The advance booking collections are yet to be released.With Shahid Kapoor’s star power and stronger advance sales, O’Romeo currently seems to have the edge heading into the Valentine’s Day weekend. But we will have to wait until the end of the week to see which film emerges victorious at the box office.
