Muzammil Ibrahim, who made his debut in Pooja Bhatt’s Dhokha, seems to be in a hurry to reach the top. Even before he has established a strong foothold in the industry, he demanded Rs 90 lakh when Mahesh Bhatt’s wife Soni Razdan called him to play the male lead in her yet untitled next film.
The film dwells on the nexus between the corrupt police and the underworld.
1x1 polls
Soni, who earlier directed Nazar, wanted Muzammil to play a corrupt police officer.
A source says, Muzammil met Soni. The two had a long meeting. Muzammil liked the role and agreed to do it. Initially, he did not know that UTV will be producing the film. That time, he was very excited that he would play a cop with grey shades. He felt that it would be very challenging to play a role totally opposite to his character of an honest cop in Dhokha.
Muzammil just does not seem to understand things. Although he had problems with Pooja Bhatt while working on Dhokha, Mahesh Bhatt still agreed to cast him in one of his upcoming projects. Now, Mahesh’s wife (Soni) wanted to sign him. They definitely see some spark in his acting. He might have a lot of potential, but why would anybody pay him Rs 90 lakh when he has just one film release to his credit? the source adds.
When asked to comment on his unreasonable demand, Muzammil excused himself by saying, I am busy in a shot. I can’t talk now. Soni confirms that she will be directing a film for UTV. About Muzammil’s huge demand of money, she simply says, I don’t discuss these matters in public. It is against my principles.
Soni Razdan’s project with UTV will commence early next year.
