Mrunal Thakur once reacted to her old confession about being ‘madly’ in love with Virat Kohli: ‘Stop it…’
Mrunal Thakur started out on television with popular shows like ‘Mujhse Kuchh Kehti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, quickly becoming a familiar face in Indian households. She made her Bollywood debut with the 2018 film ‘Love Sonia’ and later marked her Telugu debut with the 2022 hit ‘Sita Ramam’. Mrunal has steadily carved her space in the industry, impressing audiences with her versatility and choice of strong roles. During the promotions of her film ‘Jersey’ along with Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal revealed a teenage crush she once had on cricketer Virat Kohli.
She further added, “I have fond memories of watching a match live at a stadium with him around five years ago. I remember I was wearing a blue jersey and cheering for team India. Cut to today, I am part of a cricket-based film like Jersey. It is such a happy coincidence.”
“So many. I said no, honestly, because I was not ready. Controversies hojayegi. It became a super hit and did help the female actress to reach there. But, then I realised if I would have done that film at that point of time I would have lost myself.”
Mrunal was reportedly set to make her Bollywood debut with ‘Sultan’ alongside Salman Khan, but the role went to Anushka Sharma. Reflecting on it, she added,
“Then she is not working at the moment, but I am, is itself a victory because I don't want instant gratification, instant recognition, instant fame because anything that comes instantly goes away instantly.”
