Mrunal Thakur credits her childhood ‘manifestation’ trick for bagging roles with Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor and John Abraham

Mrunal Thakur is one of Bollywood’s most promising talents today. Known for her versatile roles and charming screen presence, she has impressed audiences with both her acting skills and her inspiring journey from TV to films. But behind her success lies a unique and heartfelt trick she has followed since childhood, one that she believes helped her share the screen with some of her dream co-stars.

The schoolbook secret

Speaking on Instant Bollywood’s podcast, Mrunal revealed that she and her sister had a fun and motivating habit as children. They would place cut-outs of their favourite actors, including Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, and John Abraham, inside their school textbooks. She recalled that they used to hide the pictures from their father by covering with other papers on top.


What began as a simple act of manifestation eventually turned into reality. Years later, she acted with Hrithik in ‘Super 30’, John in ‘Batla House’, and Shahid in ‘Jersey’.

Visualising the dream

For Mrunal, those cut-outs were more than just decoration. They served as a way to visualise her goals and keep herself motivated throughout her school days. She stressed that while visualisation can inspire anyone chasing a dream, it is not enough on its own. She attributed her achievements to determination, persistent effort, and the mindset of never giving up, and encouraged others to remain focused even when the path ahead is difficult.

Mrunal’s views on marriage and relationships

Mrunal shared that her perspective on relationships had changed over time. She explained that while she once thought she might marry young, she now believed important life events should happen naturally, without pressure. She said she was currently prioritising her career and personal growth, and felt the right time for such milestones would come on its own.

‘Son of Sardaar 2’ and upcoming projects

On the work front, Mrunal Thakur’s recent film ‘Son of Sardaar 2’, co-starring Ajay Devgn, is currently running in cinemas and holding steady at the box office. Next, she will be seen in ‘Dacoit’ alongside Adivi Sesh, which is set to release this Christmas on 25 December.
