When it comes to explicit, intimate and abusive content for the big screen, censor board authorities are known to follow strict guidance and rules. However, keeping the theme of the Ravi Kishen-Manish Vatsalya-Yashpal Sharma starrer Jeena Hai Toh Thok Daal in mind, they chose to be liberal towards the film. Though it has been issued an ‘A’ certificate, producer Aparna Joshing is pretty pleased with the censor board’s decision.
Hoshing explains, “The recent success of Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur series is testament to this as both the flicks were passed by the board without any major cuts. And we had the same expectation from the censors for our film.”
The producer adds, “The scenes and dialogues make a crucial part of the plot and are not included for sensationalism, thus the censors had no issue with the film.” Debutant director Manish Vatsalya, who also makes his mark as an actor says, “I am glad that my film didn’t face troubles with the censors.”
Jeena Hai... also stars Rahul Kumar, Pooja Welling, Hazel Crowney, Sharat Saxena, Govind Naamdev, Murli Sharma and Ashwini Kalsekar amongst others.
