Lovely Nikarika comes calling

They made a splash at the Cannes last year with their first film together. Now, the Miss Lovely pair, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Niharika Singh, is back with Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s 'Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa'.
About casting Niharika, winner of Femina Miss India Earth 2005, Buddhadeb says, “She had sent me her pictures and I thought she is perfect for a certain role.Things fell into place soon.” The director adds that Nawazuddin too is all praise for her. “They have worked together and Nawaz really liked her acting. Some other people too said that she is a great performer. She is interested in doing different kinds of films.” Buddhadeb, however, is yet to watch Miss Lovely. “I haven’t watched it, but I’m sure she’ll do a great job.”
Ashim Ahluwalia’s Miss Lovely was shortlisted in the Un Certain Regard category at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. It was about the C-grade film industry in Mumbai churning out sex horror films. Niharika will start shooting in May.
