Lara to turn Laila?

The revampedversions will be seen in forthcoming films Dum Maaro Dum and Thank You. It issurely certain that the trend of remixing old cult numbers to be used as filmtracks has caught up once again. While we already have new versionsof Bachna Ae Haseeno, Apni Toh Jaise Taise and Sar Jo Tera Chakraye used infilms, there’s yet another iconic item number getting ready to make cinegoers groove to its tunes. The latest song to join the bandwagon is Laila O Laila from Qurbani which starred Zeenat Aman at her sexiest best. The remixed version of the song is going to be an important track in forthcoming film Chalo Dilli which stars Lara Dutta and Vinay Pathak in lead roles. Talking about the same, Eros International’s Ram Mirchandanisaid, “Chalo Dilli releases in April and the remixed Laila O Laila wasadded to the film last minute. We realized the craze amongst youth regarding theremix versions of 80s classics and we thought it the song will act as a crowdpuller for the film amongst other elements.”Asked if LaraDutta will be seen grooving to the song in the film Mirchandani said, “Toknow that, you will have to wait till the promos go onair.”Now, only time will tell if Lara is able to match up toZeenat’s oomph and appeal.
