Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan, Liger: FIVE big releases of August

Next month is going to be a packed house at the box office. August has five massive films, rolling out every Friday at the theatres. From Aamir Khan’s much awaited ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ to Vijay Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut ‘Liger’ and Alia Bhatt’s thrilling entertainer ‘Darlings’ – August is going to be a joy ride of entertainment. Watch out for what’s in store:

Alia Bhatt marks her debut as a producer with this twisted tale of revenge. The narrative revolves around the story of a mother-daughter duo, essayed by Alia and Shefali Shah. This dark comedy also stars Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in pivotal roles. This OTT release will be available for viewing from August 5.

The long wait for an Aamir Khan movie is finally over. Next month, the actor releases his pet project, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which has been adapted from Hollywood biggie ‘Forrest Gump’. Aamir’s incredible transformation in the trailer wowed fans and what the movie holds in store, will only be revealed on August 11.

Also arriving with ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Raksha Bandhan’. This Aanand L Rai directorial promises a social message with Akki at the forefront. ‘Raksha Bandhan’ explores the relationship between a brother and sister and is releasing on the festive occasion of Rakhi this year. With two biggies releasing together, it is indeed going to be double bonanza week at the box office!

Hit maker jodi Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashayap have reunited for a dramatic entertainer. It is said to be an adaptation of Oriol Paulo’s 2018 Spanish-language film ‘Mirage’. Touted to be a sci-fi drama, this film promises ‘travel time across the dimensions of the universe’. ‘Do Baaraa’ is slated for release on August 19.

South sensation Vijay Deverakonda is set to debut in Bollywood with Karan Johar backed ‘Liger’. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, ‘Liger’ narrates the story of an MMA fighter, essayed by Vijay Deverakonda. Ananya Panday plays the leading lady opposite Vijay in this film, which is set for release on August 25. What’s more? ‘Liger’ features a special appearance by Mike Tyson.
