Khushboo Patani was ‘misrepresented’: Disha Patani’s father DEFENDS daughter's remarks after attack on Bareilly home
Disha Patani’s family is facing tense times after gunshots were fired outside their Civil Lines home in Bareilly. The incident, which took place early Friday morning, has been linked to the controversy surrounding the actor’s elder sister, Khushboo Patani. Now their father, retired CO Jagdish Patani, has broken his silence to defend Khushboo, insisting that her remarks were wrongly connected to a spiritual leader and taken out of context.

Jagdish Patani insists Khushboo unfairly misrepresented

Defending his elder daughter, Jagdish Patani has now opened up. He made it clear that her comments were linked only to the controversy around Aniruddhacharya and were not aimed at any other religious figure. He told ANI, "Khushboo (sister of actor Disha Patani) was misrepresented. Her name was dragged into the matter of Premanand Ji Maharaj. We are Sanatanis, and we respect the sadhus and saints. If someone is misrepresenting her statement, it is a conspiracy to demean us."

Khushboo Patani had faced trolling over remarks

The controversy stems from Khushboo Patani’s criticism of Aniruddhacharya. She had reacted to his alleged statement that women over the age of 25 who remain unmarried are usually promiscuous. Her response sparked outrage online, with trolling and criticism directed at her.
After being heavily trolled, Khushboo had also turned to Instagram to clarify her side. She stressed that her words had been taken out of context and circulated in a misleading way, wrongly suggesting they were directed at Premanand Ji Maharaj.

Police assure protection for Patani family

As reported by ANI, the quiet neighbourhood of Civil Lines was rattled when two unidentified men on a motorbike opened fire at the Patani residence. SSP Bareilly Anurag Arya confirmed the incident, "We received information about the firing at retired CO Jagdish Patani's residence by two unidentified motorbike-borne assailants. Police teams were immediately sent to the site. An FIR has been registered at the Kotwali police station under various sections. Armed police personnel have been deployed for the protection of the family members."He also revealed that five police teams had been formed to investigate. "We will take strict action against the accused. I personally met with the family and have assured them of their safety," he added.

Disha and Khushboo yet to respond

While the police investigation continues, neither Disha Patani nor her sister Khushboo have spoken publicly about the attack.
