Kareena Kapoor Khan reveals how she manages screen time for Taimur and Jeh: 'Parents also have to do what they want their kids to do'
Kareena Kapoor Khan has completed 25 years in Bollywood, with her latest film, The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta, now in theaters. At a recent event, Kareena reflected on her journey and shared insights into how she manages screen time for her sons, Taimur and Jeh.
When asked about her son Taimur's favorite films, Kareena smiled and mentioned that he loved watching Bhool Bhulaiyaa with his dad, Saif Ali Khan. She joked about showing her films to her kids at the event, saying, "Maybe I should get them to watch something at the festival, I think. Because it’s playing.”
Kareena also touched on regulating screen time for her sons. "Monday to Friday, screen time is, like, no! But then he’s always like, ‘But then why are you watching TV?’ ‘Why are you on your phone?’ These days, the parents also have to do what they want their kids to do. So, when we are wanting to put them to bed, then we are also reading and not watching TV till they go to sleep. Because I guess they learn from example – there’s no other way. They’re going to see us on the phone or on the screen. They’ll want to do that," she told News 18.
Currently, Kareena is earning praise for her role in The Buckingham Murders, a mystery thriller that has received positive feedback from both audiences and critics. Talking about her role, Kareena explained that she always wanted to play a detective and now she has done that. She added that she has never really thought of a particular genre while playing different characters.
"I look at characters as something that I would enjoy playing. Because, you have to spend, you know, 50, 60, 70 days with that character in you. So, you have to really enjoy doing it. That’s the most important thing, I think, for an actor. To enjoy playing that part. Otherwise, how will you be able to spend so much time being that particular person?" Kareena explained.
