Following the recent death of her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, Karisma Kapur is being supported by her sister, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kareena shared a heartfelt birthday message for Karisma, acknowledging the difficult year they've faced.

Karisma Kapur has been going through a tough time as her ex-husband Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12. While Karisma and Sunjay have been divorced since 2016, the actress must have been affected as he was the father of her children, Samaira and Kiaan. While the duo got into a legal battle for the custody of their kids during divorce, they were very cordial with each other before he passed away. In 2023, Sunjay had dropped photos from Samaira's birthday celebrations which had Karisma also joining it. One also saw Sunjay's wife Priya Sachdev in these celebrations.The actress was seen travelling to Delhi with her kids for the funeral and prayer meet. Now days after his demise, Kareena Kapoor Khan who has been with her sister as a rock solid support, has tried to cheer her up. It's Karisma's birthday today and Kareena dropped a picture of her with Saif Ali Khan. She penned an emotional note which read, "This is my most favourite picture of you both ❤️To the strongest and the bestest girl in the universe…It’s been a tough year for us …but you know what …as they say tough times don’t last …the toughest sisters do…❤️To my Sister ,my mother ,my best friend …Happy birthday My Lolo ❤️ @therealkarismakapoor."
