From Vidya Balan's 'Shakuntala Devi', Kangana Ranaut's 'Thalaivi' to Taapsee Pannu in 'Sabhaash Mithu', here is the line up of biopics made on the real-life icons to look forward to. Vidya Balan in 'Shakuntala Devi'

Vidya Balan is all set to play the role of mathematics genius Shakuntala Devi. A few days back, the actress unveiled her first look and her fans went gaga over it. The poster shows Vidya Balan as Shakuntala Devi, the human-computer, donning short hair and in a red saree. Directed by Anu Menon, 'Shakuntala Devi' is based on the life of mathematics genius Shakuntala Devi. The film is set to release in the summer of 2020. Vidya is considered as the first actress who carved her niche in Bollywood with women-centric films. Her previous releases like 'Kahaani' to 'Tumhari Sulu' to her last film 'Mission Mangal' are considered to be the most exceptional films of the actress.

Kangana Ranaut in 'Thalaivi'

After playing Rani Lakshmi Bai in 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', Kangana Ranaut is all set to step into the shoes of late J Jayalalitha. The biopic on former chief minister of Tamil Nadu is helmed by AL Vijay. When the makers dropped the first look poster of the much-awaited film, her fans were all praise and said that Kangana looks like a mirror image of late political leader J Jayalalithaa. They even dropped a teaser which gave us a sneak-peek into her film. The actress spent more than six months preparing for the titular role. From taking Bharatnatyam lessons to taking learning Tamil, the actress worked really hard to get into the skin of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

Janhvi Kapoor in ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’

After making a big Bollywood debut with 'Dhadak', Janhvi is all set to play Gunjan Saxena in ' ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’. Her upcoming film 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' has got everyone waiting as she will be seen on the big screen after a gap of two years after her debut film. It is a biopic, which is being made on Indian Air Force pilot, Gunjan Saxena, who was the first woman combat aviator to enter the war zone in the 1999 Kargil War. Recently, the release date of Janhvi’s film got postponed and now, it will be released on April 24, 2020. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl will be produced by Karan Johar.

Taapsee Pannu in 'Sabhaash Mithu' and 'Rashmi Rocket'

Taapsee Pannu left all of us impressed with her role of Shooter Dadi Prakashi Tomar in 'Saand Ki Aankh'. Now, the star is all set to play Mithali Raj, former captain of the Indian women's national cricket team, in Shabaash Mithu. It is a biopic on the life of Mithali Raj. Mithali is considered as one of the greatest batswomen in the world. She is the only female cricketer to surpass the 6,000-run mark in ODIs. Apart from this, she will also play sports drama film- 'Rashmi Rocket'. The film is about the journey of a fictional Gujarati girl named Rashmi, who is a fast runner and people from her village call her "Rocket".

Parineeti Chopra in Saina Nehwal biopic

Parineeti Chopra is gearing up for the Saina Nehwal biopic. She will play the role of a badminton player and she is doing all the rigorous activities for the same. Be it gymming, practising in net among others to get into the shoes of Saina, she is leaving no stones unturned. The actress often shares pictures on Instagram from training sessions also impressed her fans. Parineeti is preparing to play the Olympian for six months now. Her coach, Eshan Naqvi, accompanied her to London when she was shooting there.
