Kalki Koechlin opens up about experimenting with polyamory and the complexities of dating multiple people simultaneously: 'Monogamy is a choice'
Kalki Koechlin, now married to Guy Hershberg and mother to their daughter Sappho, recently opened up about her past experiences with polyamorous relationships. The actress, who was previously married to director Anurag Kashyap, shared insights into the complexities of dating multiple people simultaneously.
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Kalki stressed that both monogamy and polyamory are choices that come with strict boundaries and rules, which must be mutually agreed upon before entering such relationships. She noted, "Now that I am married and have a kid, I don’t think I have time for that sh*t, because you just don’t even have time to see your own partner. But I think that it has happened in the past, and again, I think you have to be very specific about your rules and boundaries."
Reflecting on her earlier years, Kalki mentioned that her approach to relationships was different when she was younger and not interested in settling down. She explained that polyamory can work for some, but for her, it was more of an experimental phase in her life.
"It means, perhaps it can’t be from your circle. I don’t think you can go as deep in a polyamorous relationship. Although I do know people who have managed to have a lifetime and have kids as well and do it. For me, it was a very different period in my life, I was much younger. I wasn’t interested in settling down, so it was okay. The idea was to be kind of each other’s main person but just also be like an experiment. I know people who have done but I don’t know if I would be able to be as invested in a long term,” she said.
Kalki and Guy welcomed their daughter Sappho in 2020 and currently reside in Goa, balancing family life with her film career. The actress was last seen in the critically acclaimed film Goldfish and the Ananya Panday starrer Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. Further, if we talk about her work choices, the actress who is mostly seen doing roles with an edge craves to do a girl-next-door role. In a conversation with Kareena Kapoor on her show, Kalki once expressed her desire to do simpler roles.

What is she trying to say ? In this article. She appears to be extremely confused and is making convoluted statements. Unable to figure out whether it is Kalki or the writer who has made the whole thing convoluted. Whatever it is, best luck to Kalki for whatever she chooses, because every individual has the right to choose the path to either hell or heaven in her / his own way !!Read allPost comment
