‘John Abraham called after kaand’: Ranveer Allahbadia reveals celeb names who stood by him during ‘India’s Got Latent’ row
Farah Khan recently featured podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia in her latest vlog. During their chat, Ranveer revisited a tough chapter from his career when a court order led to the temporary suspension of his podcast after the controversy surrounding Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. He jokingly described the whole episode as a “kaand.”

The moment Farah walked into the apartment, she found herself in a spacious area that blended the dining and living spaces seamlessly. Impressed by the grandeur of the place, she turned to her cook, Dilip, and joked, “He got such a big house by doing podcast. How big a house can we get if we also start a podcast.” The living room stood out with its striking blue sofa placed opposite a massive TV, while the apartment’s true charm lay beyond — a vast balcony filled with green plants and comfy seating. Farah was then given a tour of Ranveer’s podcast studio, the very space where he records episodes of The Ranveer Show. Impressed by the setup, she called the room “iconic” before curiously asking if the India’s Got Latent controversy had unfolded during his time in the same house. “Ye kand kab hua tha?” she inquired. Ranveer then showed ok Farah Khan his bedroom, which features a separate entrance and inspirational words like “Joy,” “Providence,” and “Blessing” displayed on the wall. The space embraces a minimalist aesthetic, centered around a simple bed that offers a direct view of the balcony. Farah also got a glimpse of Ranveer’s well-organized walk-in closet, where his jackets, outfits, and accessories were neatly arranged. In a sweet gesture, Ranveer gifted one of his goggles to Dilip during the tour. As they chatted, he revealed his admiration for Farah Khan’s directorial ‘Tees Maar Khan’, a film he said he truly enjoyed. The movie may not have done well at the box office, but Farah recalled that time with a laugh, saying, “Jab release hue thi tab band baja di thi. She also questioned Ranveer about what followed the India’s Got Latent controversy, when one of his remarks sparked backlash, resulting in multiple legal cases and a temporary halt to his podcast. Reflecting on that period, Ranveer shared, “My podcast was stopped after that, I had to bear a lot. I just pray from God to just return me my work. Ranveer recalled that during the tough days following the controversy, several well-known names from the film and sports industry reached out to him for support, including John Abraham and a few Indian cricketers. Sharing a piece of advice, Farah told him, “Never waste a good failure, always work from it. Put your head down and work.” Responding to her, Ranveer said, “John Abraham sir called me and said the same thing. He had called specially. He told me to handle myself and told me that this is normal in the media.
