Ishika Gagneja reveals how she landed the dream role as Diljit Dosanjh’s sister in 'Border 2': 'I manifested this'

Actress Ishika Gagneja is living every fan’s ultimate dream. Once just a face in the crowd cheering for Diljit Dosanjh, she has now officially transitioned from a fangirl to his reel sister in the war epic 'Border 2.' In a heartfelt social media post, Ishika shared how she manifested this moment while standing at a Diljit concert in 2024. Today, she portrays Sukhminder Kaur Sekhon, the sister of Diljit’s character, Fg Offr Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon. The actress credits "consistency and self-belief" for her journey from a child artist, previously seen in 'Dangal' and 'Dhadak' to a key role in 2026’s biggest cinematic success.

Gadneja shared the reel on social media with a long and heartfelt note. She wrote, “@diljitdosanjh veerji, working with you was truly a dream come true. Kindness and humility like yours are incredibly rare to find.” She also added, “I attended your concert in 2024 and manifested working with you while standing in that crowd. A year later, I shot for Border 2 with you… and in 2026, I get to see myself playing your sister.”

'Border 2’s big box office run

While Gadneja's story touched hearts 'Border 2' is also making noise at the box office. The film crossed the Rs 250 crore mark worldwide in just four days. In India, it has collected around Rs 180 crore net so far. The Republic Day weekend helped the film grow even faster. Overseas too, the film earned well and added around 4.3 million to its total as reported by the Sacnilk website.

The film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in lead roles. The film also stars Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh.

From the epic war scenes to the mesmerizing performances, 'Border 2: is getting wide praises from the audiences even though majority of them were divided during its trailer release which was said to be underwhelming. With 'Border 2', Sunny Deol has scored another hit after 'Gadar 2'.
