‘I don’t mind doing an item number’

Saying ���No��� to Ram Gopal Verma is not easy! So, it���s no surprise that model-turned-actor Sakshi Gulati who made her acting debut with RGV���s forgettable film Contract, is working with him again in the second film of her career.
At the moment I doing a film directed by Ramu. The script is amazing and the shooting will begin soon. But the film hasn���t been titled yet,��� says Sakshi, chatting with JT, on her recent visit to the Pink City.And despite the failure of a couple of RGV films in the recent future, the 25-year-old who was hand-picked by RGV to play the role of a bad girl in Contract, defends her mentor, ���I believe that everybody is allowed to have ups and downs, and a certain number of flops in his/er career. All top actors and directors have made films at some point in their careers that haven���t clicked with the audience.���
But having said that, Sakshi is keen to chart a career path of her own even as she confesses, ���Yes, I want to chart my own route. And this will only be possible when I start getting my dream roles which I have yet not been offered.��� And to tread the path on her own, she is also ready to step out of her mentor���s wings and work with other directors. ���I am open to working with any director. I just want some good roles. I don���t even mind doing an item number or being tagged as sex symbol,��� she says.
And does competition scare her? ���The glam world is all about talent and talent and more talent. So you will be compared,��� she says, set to face reality.
She was in Jaipur to judge a state-level beauty contest and she seemed to be walking down memory. ���I started my career as a professional model and must say that these events really bring the best out of you,��� she says. Happy that events like the one she was in, are happening in Jaipur she says, ���I am happy that youngsters of the city are getting a chance to showcase their talent. For me Jaipur is a special place because my masi stays here. I keep coming here after every three or four months.���
A trained salsa dancer and a yoga freak, has Sakshi found her Mr Perfect yet? ���No I am yet to go through the process of falling in love. Right now the only two men in my life are my brother and my father,��� she signs off.
