‘I can’t imagine life without Dharamendra’: Hema Malini breaks silence, addresses relationship with Sunny and Bobby Deol
In a new candid interview, Hema Malini opened up and reflected on life after losing the veteran actor Dharmendra, who died nearly six weeks ago. She described their 57-year bond, where packed routines never stopped them from prioritizing each other. She recalled his habit of calling her on trips and driving from Lonavala's farm to join her, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol. Hema Malini also addressed the rumors of rift with Dharmendra's first wife Prakash Kaur and step sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol iver two separate prayer meets that were conducted post the actor's demise.
The 'Dream Girl' also opened up about Dharmendra's last days, sharing that the veteran actor was back at home during the last few days and she was sure that he was alright. She felt he would be around for one or two more years. Hema Malini revealed, "He was back at home during the last few days. After going to the hospital, he was back home. Till that time, I am sure he was alright. I felt he would be around for one or two more years, definitely. During the treatment, everything started becoming… I mean, we can’t blame anybody. I don’t know, he was fine. He was not alright, that’s why he went to the hospital. He was admitted to the hospital many times, and would always come back healthy and smiling. That’s what we were hoping this time also."
Hema Malini also stated how Dharmendra had the best. She said, "I will always say. He had the best of life. Whatever he desired, he had it. Such a sweet person he was. And I feel proud that so many people love him and that person who was loved by everyone so much.
When asked if she is healing properly? Hema said, “We were together for 57 years. I can’t imagine a life without him; I miss him every minute. It’s not that we were together all the time. He would always ask, ‘Where are you? When are you coming? Are you coming back? Then, I am also coming back from Lonavala.’ He would come and be here with me and the family. I feel sad without him. When will I meet him again?”.
The late Dharmendra was last seen in 'Ikkis' with Agastya Nanda, Jaideep Ahawat and the late Asrani.
Hema Malini opens up on life after losing Dharmendra
In an interview with senior journalist Subhash K Jha for The Indian Express, Hema Malini said, “I was very deeply in sorrow, still that is there. But trying to get out of it, because it is too much for me to take. I am strong, that’s what everybody says… I am strong, but sometimes you… I have to go on, I have to.”The 'Dream Girl' also opened up about Dharmendra's last days, sharing that the veteran actor was back at home during the last few days and she was sure that he was alright. Hema Malini addresses her ties with the Deols
Speaking about her relationship with Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, Hema said, “It has always been very nice and cordial. Even today it is very nice. I don’t know why people think something is wrong with us. It is because people want gossip. Why should I answer them? Is it necessary for me to give an explanation? Why should I? It’s my life. My personal life, our personal life. We are absolutely happy and very close to each other.That’s it. I don’t have anything more to say about this. I don’t know what stories people are making up. So sad that people use other’s grief to write a few articles.That is why I don’t answer (such speculation). Sunny is planning museum for Dharamji. So he will do it. We will consult and do it. He will tell me whatever he does, he tells me.”When asked if she is healing properly? Hema said, “We were together for 57 years. I can’t imagine a life without him; I miss him every minute.
