#HappyTeachersDay - ‘Raksha Bandhan’ actor Sahejmeen Kaur - “The lesson I have learned the hard way is to be patient” - Exclusive

Sahejmeen Kaur who recently dipped her feet in Bollywood with her debut movie ‘Raksha Bandhan’ interacted with ETimes on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. During our exclusive conversation, Sahejmeen told us about the life lessons that she learned the hard way, the person she considers her best teacher, and at the same time, spilled beans on various other subjects.

Here are the excerpts from the interview:

2/5

A drive through the school memory lane - “I was scared of my maths teacher”

“I was scared of my maths teacher as I used to find maths really tough but I remember I was her favourite as I was extremely cute and my face resembled the kid she used to love in her neighbourhood. So she always used to give me chocolates and she knew the fact that I didn’t like maths and she had to build interest in me with love. She is still my favourite.”

3/5

Mother is the first and best teacher

“The best teacher in my life is my mother. She used to put a lot of effort into me to ensure my bright future ahead. She helped me in every phase of my life. She helped me in finishing my school, and college and now also she helps me in getting many things I need while working in this industry.”

4/5

The life lesson

“I would say the lesson I have learnt the hard way is to be patient. As an artist, we all have to be patient in every single step and it is not at all easy. But now I can say when we don’t have an option other than having patience then one must wait gracefully. It’s a huge challenge and I accept it courageously now.”

5/5

Special teachers’ day message

“I would say anything can be your teacher. It can be a painting or a quote or a friend or a stranger or a kid or nature or anything in the universe. Try to learn from everything and then you will have unlimited teachers. Always remember that your life is your biggest teacher. Live like a free spirit and one secret mantra which I follow in my life is that one should always learn at least one new thing every day.”
