Aditya Roy Kapur initially started his career as a VJ before venturing into acting. His debut in the film industry came in 2009 with the musical drama "London Dreams." However, it was the musical romance "Aashiqui 2" in 2013 that marked his breakthrough. Even though the actor is still largely finding his way, he has given some memorable performances and is known for his good looks and elusive charm that refuses to fade, even as he is inching towards 40! Aashiqui 2

"Aashiqui 2," released in 2013, is a musical drama directed by Mohit Suri. Serving as a spiritual successor to the 1990 musical film "Aashiqui," the movie stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, supported by Shaad Randhawa and Mahesh Thakur, and features a cameo appearance by Salil Acharya.

Set in the early 2010s, the film revolves around the tumultuous romantic relationship between Rahul Jaykar, a struggling singer with personal issues, and his protege, the aspiring singer Aarohi Keshav Shirke. The narrative is deeply influenced by Rahul's struggles with alcohol abuse and his volatile temperament, adding layers of complexity to their love story.

Over time, it became the highest-grossing production for the Bhatt brothers and Vishesh Films. The soundtrack of the film was exceptionally well-received, quickly becoming chartbusters. Songs like "Tum Hi Ho" and "Sunn Raha Hai" not only topped various music charts in India, but also gained widespread popularity. Other tracks like "Chahun Main Ya Naa" and "Milne Hai Mujhse Aayi" also achieved chart success.

Gumraah

"Gumraah" is a 2023 action thriller film directed by Vardhan Ketkar. Starring Aditya Roy Kapur in a dual role, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Ronit Roy, the movie is a remake of the 2019 Tamil film Thadam. The storyline centers on a murder investigation that takes a twist when the police uncover two individuals who share a striking resemblance, leading to a complex and suspenseful narrative.

On a stormy night, Aakash Sardana is ruthlessly murdered by an unknown assailant. Inspector Shivani Mathur, amidst the investigation, obtains a photograph of the killer. ACP Dhiren Yadav, Shivani's senior, identifies the murderer as Arjun Sehgal, who has a longstanding rivalry with him. Arjun is apprehended and brought in for questioning, but he vehemently denies any involvement in the crime.

Malang

The 2020 action thriller film, "Malang," was directed by Mohit Suri. Advait's journey to Goa takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Sara, a vivacious and unrestrained young woman. Despite their contrasting personalities, they are drawn to each other, and life seems idyllic. However, circumstances take a drastic turn, flipping their world upside down.

In the later years, a transformed Advait finds himself on a path of violence and vengeance, embarking on a killing spree. Standing in his way are determined cops Aghase and Michael. The once harmonious narrative of love and opposites attract now evolves into a gripping tale of conflict and pursuit, as Advait's actions set him on a collision course with the forces determined to stop him.

OK Jaanu

The 2017 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film "OK Jaanu" was directed by Shaad Ali. The screenplay and story were adapted from Mani Ratnam's Tamil film "O Kadhal Kanmani."This movie serves as a remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film "O Kadhal Kanmani."

The lead roles in "OK Jaanu" are portrayed by Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, with notable supporting performances by Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson, who also featured in the original Tamil version, marking her Hindi debut. This film brings the essence of Mani Ratnam's work to the Hindi-speaking audience, adapting the themes and storyline of "O Kadhal Kanmani" into a new romantic drama. The movie, a refreshing take on 'modern love' charts the life of a young couple Adi and Tara, who despite not believing in marriage, fall deeply in love with each other and start living in, making them realise that there is more to life than just a no strings attached situationship.

Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani

"Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani," often abbreviated as YJHD, is a 2013 coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama film. Ayan Mukerji directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Hussain Dalal. Karan Johar produced the movie under his banner, Dharma Productions. The lead roles are played by Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor . The ensemble cast also includes Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur.

The narrative centers around two individuals who cross paths during a trekking trip, with one of them developing feelings for the other but choosing not to express them. Despite drifting apart, they later reconnect at a friend's wedding. The film explores themes of love, friendship, and personal growth as it follows the characters through different stages of their life.
