Gautam Gulati drops con caper for Ekta Kapoor's film

Bigg Boss 8 winner blames it on a clash of dates, promises that his first film will be a hit.
Nine days ago, Mirror (April 12) had reported that Gautam Gulati will make his Bollywood debut with Udanchoo, playing a scamster who romances Brazilian model, Bruna Abdullah, and newcomer Saisha Sehgal. Now we have learnt that the Bigg Boss Season 8 winner has dropped out of the con caper which was to roll in Delhi on April 12, for a film being produced by Ekta Kapoor.

The actor confirmed the news, saying, "Yes, I informed the producer on Thursday. The dates are clashing with a Balaji production which rolls in June. Ekta ma'am will always be my first priority because she gave me my break on television."
Buzz is, Salman Khan, the host of the reality show, advised him to bow out of the con caper, saying he's destined for bigger things. "No, he didn't, it would be a big deal for me if he were to guide me. The decision was mine. I want to select what's best for me, irrespective of whether it's a big or small film. Main apni dil ki aawaz sunta hoon," he insists.
Didn't his dil ki awaaz speak to him before Udanchoo was launched in the presence of filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Farah Khan? "I've been speaking to Ekta ma'am regularly. The date clash just happened. It might have got sticky if we'd started shooting but right now it doesn't affect anyone much," he says.
Will he be the solo lead in Ekta 's film too? "Don't I look like a hero? So it's but natural I'd play one," he retorts. And will he sign the 'nudity clause' that has become a mandatory part of all contracts Ekta will draw up with all actors, starting with XXX? It covers exposure, shooting of explicit intimate scenes and the use of sexual dialogue. My film is for a family audience and not an erotic drama like XXX. Even if anyone wanted, you can't incorporate provocative visuals or titillating lines," he argues. "My audience will not be disappointed."
So, Ekta Kapoor will launch him again, this time in Bollywood? Gautam quips, "I'll launch myself and ensure that my film is a hit."
