Director Gauri Shinde says the subject of depression holds great potential for a film. Deepika Padukone, who has personally been a victim of depression, launched her foundation - "Live Love Laugh" dedicated to addressing the issue of mental health today - World Mental Health Day. Gauri was present at the event.

TOIEntertain "It (depression) is a great subject.
It (film) should definitely be made in a country like ours. Subjects like these are considered taboo and are not talked about," Gauri said in response to a question.
"I think it should be out in the open. It is great that Deepika is doing it... She has become a brand ambassador of this subject. You need a person like her to talk about it... Hats off to her for talking about it. We all should support it," she said.
"I wholeheartedly support this. It feels proud that Deepika has come forward and is talking about it," she added.
