She is the female Nana in the making. This is what everybody who has seen the work of Mehul Kumar’s daughter Jahan Bloch in the sequel to Krantiveer with Nana Patekar and Dimple, is saying. Jahan has quite the same gusto, same fire in her eyes and same power in her voice. In the White City Entertainment produced Krantiveer- The Revolution, Jahan is debuting in the role of Nana and Dimple’s daughter.
“I wouldn’t say that I am a female Nana Patekar but, yes, I have tried to look like the daughter of his character. Before I could start shooting, my father had insisted that I watch the original Krantiveer. I landed up watching it nine times and absorbed the mannerism of Pratap Narayan Tilak. In real life too, I have always been a very righteous type of person, so it was easy to get into the character of Roshni in reel.” However, unit hands and her co-stars Samir Aftab, Aditya Singh Rajput and Harsh Rajput vouch for her fiery and aggressive stance — how she is the no-nonsense girl and how useless frivolous questions irritate her. In fact, many reminisce of the climax of Karntiveer-The Revolution. In the original movie, when Nana had started giving his speech, towards the end of the film, even the units hands were spell bound. During the climax of the sequel, many junior artists, who were also a part of the previous Krantiveer, were present. When Jahan started talking, it was as if they were listening to Nana himself. After every dialogue they would clap. Some even had tears in their eyes, so strong was the déjà vu.
The film releases on 25 June.
