Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge rereleases in theatres - here are some other romantic flicks of SRK you should watch this month of love

Valentine's Day is just around the corner - while people all across the world have their own version of the day, with some believing in it with heartfelt earnesty and others dismissing it as yet another day, what can't be overlooked is the buzz that this day creates. As DDLJ rereleased in theatres yesterday, here are some other romantic movies of SRK that you should watch, with or without a bae in sight...

2/7

Veer-Zaara

How far can you go for the person you love? In 1982, Indian Air Force pilot Veer Pratap Singh meets and falls in love with Pakistani girl Zaara Haayat Khan. When Zaara's fiance learns of their feelings, he implicates Veer in a false case, leaving him languishing in jail for 22 years. Decades later, Saamiya Siddiqui, a young Pakistani human rights lawyer decides to bring justice to the star-crossed lovers. Directed by Yash Chopra, the movie co-stars Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji.

3/7

Chalte Chalte

Raj, the brash, yet good-hearted owner of a transport company falls in love with Priya, an elite fashion designer from Greece. Despite their contrasting personalities, the duo get married and enjoy a blissful few months, that is until cracks begins to develop in their fairy tale romance - how Priya and Raj navigate this tough road ahead forms the crux of the story. Co-starring Rani Mukerji, this one is known for soothing melodies and a mature, real love story.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

If you a sucker for sappy romances, this one is for you. Oblivious to the fact that his platonic tomboy best friend Anjali is in love with him, carefree college student Rahul falls in love with the uber chic, London returned Tina. They marry and have a child but Tina passes away in childbirth. Eight years later, their daughter, also called Anjali decides to reunite her father and senior Anjali. Co-starring Kajol and Rani Mukerji, this movie marked the directorial debut of Karan Johar.

5/7

Dil Toh Pagal Hai

Rahul is a fun-loving musical show director who does not believe in relationships. Overlooking the obvious feelings that his best friend and colleague Nisha harbors for him, Rahul falls for Pooja, who joins the dance group when Nisha sustains an injury. Inspite of Pooja feeling the same, she is in a dilemma as she is committed to her childhood friend Ajay, whose parents have raised her like their own child. Co-starring Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor and Akshay Kumar in a cameo, this one was directed by the late Yash Chopra.

6/7

Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

One of the most flawed, yet real characters that Shah Rukh has portrayed, the movie proves the fact love is not always black or white or even logical. While Dev is unhappy in his marriage to the independent Riya, Maya feels no passion for her husband and childhood friend Rishi, though he is nuts about her. Lonely in their respective marriages, Dev and Maya meet and fall in love and enjoy bliss, that is until it is time to face reality. Directed by Karan Johar, the movie explores the fine line between cheating and falling in love. Co-starring Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta.

7/7

Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa

One sided love does not always have to be depressing and sombre - fun loving Sunil is in love with his friend and musical band colleague Anna, who has always been in love with Chris. Despite his best attempts, Sunil is unable to break them up, yet eventually accepts his rejection with heartwarming dignity - a far cry from his volatile characters in Darr and Anjaam. Co-starring Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and Deepak Tijori, this one till date, remains one the best flicks of King Khan.
