This challenging time forced him to sell most of his properties, including his home in Mumbai, ultimately leading to his financial downfall. It was a tough chapter for the legendary actor, who had to rebuild from scratch after reaching the brink of bankruptcy.

In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Abhishek Bachchan shared that he left Boston University, where he initially declared a major in liberal arts and later switched to performing arts. He made this significant decision to support his father during a challenging financial period when Amitabh Bachchan was struggling with his business venture, ABCL



Abhishek felt a moral obligation to support his father during a difficult financial period. He decided to leave college midway to be with Amitabh, who was struggling with his business and had to borrow money for basic needs. Late at night, Amitabh shared his challenges, revealing that neither his films nor his business was succeeding.



In an interview with India Today, Amitabh Bachchan described one of the darkest times in his 44-year career. He recalled how creditors would come to their home, being abusive and threatening, particularly during the troubling period when they sought repayment. This experience left a lasting impact on him.
