'Dhurandhar 2' is already in profit; How it already earned Rs 245 cr before release; Not just OTT deal money

Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s movie 'Dhurandhar 2', which is actually titled 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has already made a huge amount of money even before it reaches theatres. The movie will release on March 19, 2026, but still, it has already collected Rs 245 crore. Because of this, the upcoming movie is already in profit.

This amount is not coming from ticket sales. It is coming from the rights that were sold before release.

Digital, satellite and music rights bring big money

The biggest part of this amount came from the digital streaming rights. Reports from Pinkvilla says that the rights were bought by a popular OTT platform for Rs 150 crore. This is a very huge amount and shows how big the movie’s demand is.




Along with this, the satellite rights for all languages were sold for Rs 50 crore. This means all the TV channels that will show the movie later have already paid a lot of money. The music rights also brought in Rs 45 crore. When all the rights are added together, the total becomes Rs 245 crore.

The first part of the movie, 'Dhurandhar', also had good non-theatrical rights. Those rights were sold for Rs 140 crore. But this time the number has gone much higher. The makers now know how big the first part became after theatres and after OTT. Because of that, the digital rights for part 2 have almost doubled.

Release date and holiday weekend advantage

'Dhurandhar 2' will come to theatres on March 19, 2026. This date is chosen because it falls close to the Eid and Gudi Padwa holidays. When there are big holidays, more people go to watch movies because they have free time. This helps the movie collect more money at the box office.

The movie will also release in many places at the same time, and the team wants to make sure people get the best experience in theatres first. After theatres, the movie is expected to come on OTT in the second week of May 2026.

No crossover with Uri, makers clear rumours

There were many rumours that this part of Dhurandhar will cross over with Vicky Kaushal’s character from Uri. Many fans thought the two movies were connected. But the reports have clearly said that this is not true. They said the movies do not share any cinematic universe. So the story of this movie is separate.

As reported by OTT Play, the makers have now said that 'Dhurandhar 2' is only a direct sequel to the first 'Dhurandhar' movie from 2025.
