'Dhoom' to 'Sarkar Raj': Here's how Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan ruled the silver screen together

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, one of Bollywood’s most adored couples, have not only mesmerized audiences with their off-screen love story but also created magic on the silver screen. Their on-screen chemistry is a testament to their real-life connection, and they have worked together in different genres, from intense dramas to light-hearted romances. As two of the industry’s most talented actors, they have delivered captivating performances in several films that have left a lasting impact.

Here are some of the most memorable films of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan:

2/6

‘Guru' (2007)

This film is considered one of the career highlights for Mani Ratnam as a director. The theme-narration of a man from a small village, Gurukant Desai's vision to change into a mighty businessman tycoon-is a thrilling victory in a very inspiring manner. Headlined by Abhishek and Aishwarya, the movie was loved for their acting prows and on-screen chemistry.

3/6

'Dhoom 2' (2006)

In this movie, Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan's characters were loved by the audience, and Aishwarya Rai's character managed to give glamour to the action thriller. Aishwarya's dazzling chemistry with Hrithik Roshan in this movie was a topic of discussion. Thought she wasn’t involved with Abhishek romantically in the movie, their secret working relationship caught everyone’s attention.

4/6

'Raavan' (2010)

In this Mani Ratnam film, Abhishek Bachchan played one of his most complex roles as Beera- a dreaded outlaw who kidnaps Ragini, played by Aishwarya Rai for revenge. Intense and layered is how one describes the performance of Abhishek as Beera and nuances shine through the performance by Aishwarya portraying a lady caught between her loyalty towards her husband and her unexpected empathy with her captor. The electric chemistry between Aishwarya and Abhishek brought a dark, brooding atmosphere to the film.

5/6

'Sarkar Raj' (2008)

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, this movie starring Abhishek and Aishwarya is a political drama set against the backdrop of power and corruption. Aishwarya appeared as Anita Rajan, an entrepreneur, while Abhishek reprised his role of Shankar Nagre, the scion of a major political lineage. The couple came out well, especially in scenes when they faced tough ethical dilemmas.

6/6

'Kuch Naa Kaho' (2003)

One of the first films where Aishwarya and Abhishek were paired together, ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’ is a light-hearted romantic drama by Rohan Sippy. The movie tells the story of Raj, played by Abhishek, who is forced into marriage by his family, but falls in love with Namrata, a single mother played by Aishwarya.
