'Dharam Ji was very fond of my music': Anu Malik recalls how late Dharmendra loved his 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' song 'Tinku Jiya'
Anu Malik has recalled his warm bond with Dharmendra and revealed that the late Bollywood legend loved his song “Pal Pal Na Mane Tinku Jiya” from 'Yamla Pagla Deewana'. The composer and singer said Dharmendra enjoyed his music and treated him like family. He also spoke about his close connection with Sunny Deol and his long professional association with Hema Malini.
Anu said, “I had always enjoyed an extremely homely relationship with Dharam Ji (Dharmendra). I have been very close to Sunny (Deol). I even gave the music for his second movie, 'Sohni Mahiwal'.”
The composer also recalled how Dharmendra reacted to his music. He said, “Dharam Ji was very fond of my music. In fact, I once came up with a playful number, “Pal Pal Na Mane Tinku Jiya”, and Dharam Ji, being extremely joyful himself, used to love that song. He also loved my melodious numbers. He used to treat me, just like a family member, hence we used to meet very often.”
The composer then spoke about working with Hema Malini. He said, “My first association with Hema Ji was in the film 'Maarg'. Then we did 'Awaargi' together, which was again produced by Hema Ji.”
He added that Hema Malini inspired him and gave him regular feedback while he composed songs. Anu said that when her film 'Ek Chadar Maili Si' came out, “she really fell in love with my music.”

According to IANS, Anu Malik shared the memory during an exclusive conversation with the news agency. He said Dharmendra, often called the “He-Man” of Bollywood, was extremely fond of “Pal Pal Na Mane Tinku Jiya” from 'Yamla Pagla Deewana'.Anu said, “I had always enjoyed an extremely homely relationship with Dharam Ji (Dharmendra). I have been very close to Sunny (Deol). I even gave the music for his second movie, 'Sohni Mahiwal'.”

Anu also said he admired Dharmendra deeply while growing up. He shared, “Given the fact that we have grown up watching and admiring his songs, I used to always be at his feet. I used to even ask him how a particular song of his was shot. However, he did not use to say anything and used to just keep looking at me.”He added that Hema Malini inspired him and gave him regular feedback while he composed songs. Anu said that when her film 'Ek Chadar Maili Si' came out, “she really fell in love with my music.”
