Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone may or may not have been steaming up the shoot offscreen, but they had promised us a sizzling intimate scene in Karthik Calling Karthik. It has all turned out to be rather anticlimatic though. Apparently, the much talked about scene has been toned down. Director of the film, Vijay Lalwani, prefers to play it down, rather than play with fire.
A source from the industry who has seen the film told Mumbai Mirror, “Kuch bhi nahin hai woh scene mein.
Aisa lagta hai ki kuch hone wala hai lekin kuch bhi nahin hota hai. It is something like they used to shoot in olden days.”
The scene, which was shot with only a few people on the set, had Farhan raving about it. He had said, “Before shooting that intimate scene, Deepika and I spent a lot of time together so that we could create a comfort zone between us. Moreover, we shot the scene in the presence of people with whom we were comfortable.”
Well, wife Adhuna may not agree with their idea of ‘comfort’. When asked if Adhuna objected to the scene, Farhan had said, “It wasn’t difficult as we share a great relationship with each other and she understands that it’s a part of my profession. If she would not have understood that it would have been very difficult for me to go ahead with that scene.”
It is still is a mystery why the intimate scene between Farhan and Deepika in the final cut is not very hot.
Did Deepika Padukone tell director Vijay Lalwani and producer Ritesh Sidhwani that she didn’t want the intimate scene to become the talk of the town because she wants to get back with
Ranbir Kapoor? Or was it the rumours about her off-screen chemistry with Farhan that prompted her to do so? Or did Adhuna insist on toning it down because her husband was rumoured to be very close to Deepika? While the real reason remains elusive, its repercussions will certainly be seen on screen.
