Brahmastra, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and more: Top 5 highest opening movies of Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani' has released today and the film is getting some really good reviews. As per the early estimates, the trade predicts a double digit opening for the film. While it can be expected to a good start and garner double digit numbers, here's looking at 5 other top openers of Alia Bhatt.

2/6

2 States

Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor starrer '2 States' which released in 2014 is one of the most loved films of the actress. The film was based on Chetan Bhagat's book with the same name. It was a love story of a boy and girl who came from two different states, religion and backgrounds. The music of the film was also highly appreciated. It had made Rs 12.42 crore on its opening day. It was just Alia's third film after 'SOTY' and 'Highway'.

3/6

Shandaar

'Shandaar' had eventually flopped at the box office as people didn't like it. But it had a good opening day as there was a lot of buzz around the film due to Alia's pairing with Shahid Kapoor and other cast members like Pankaj Kapur. It was also made by Vikas Bahl after the success of Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Queen', hence it opened to a good number of around 13 crore.

4/6

Kalank

This film had failed miserably at the box office, much to everyone's disappointment. For the longest time, Karan Johar was also upset about it. But it had a huge opening, owing to its stellar ensemble cast. 'Kalank' had opened to a huge number of around 21 crore at the box office. Of course, people didn't really like it and due to negative word of mouth, the numbers kept going down eventually. It was directed by '2 States' director Abhishek Verman.

5/6

Gully Boy

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's chemistry was loved in Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy'. With such a cast and of course, the fact that it was made by Zoya led to a good opening for the film. It also got box office success and critical acclaim, both. 'Gully Boy' opened to a number of approximately 19 crores at the box office.

6/6

Brahmastra Part One Shiva

Brahmastra is considered, the highest grossing movie of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia's career. This Ayan Mukerji biggie sparked meme fest and also got some flak, however, it kept garnering numbers at the box office and fans started making theories while now awaiting the next chapter of the film. Brahmastra opened to a whopping Rs 36 crore on Day 1.
