'Border 2' actor Sunny Deol join hands with Ekta Kapoor for an actioner; shoot to start in February - Reports

Sunny Deol is back in action mode, and his next big action film is finally ready to go on floors. The film directed by Balaji was earlier planned to begin shooting in December 2025. But plans changed because of 'Border 2' promotions; the makers decided to push the shoot by almost two months.As per Mid Day reports, the film will start rolling in the first week of February 2026. Reports say that this film is being made under Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner, and it marks Sunny Deol’s first-ever collaboration with them. The film is said to be a big-budget action thriller. The team did not want to rush anything. So they mutually agreed to delay the shoot and start when everyone could focus fully on the film. Reportedly the main reason for the delay was 'Border 2.' Sunny Deol has been busy with promotions for the film. He was tied up throughout January. Instead of starting the new film in a hurry, the makers felt it was better to wait.The action thriller will go on floors in the first week of February 2026. Sunny Deol will report to the set on February 10. Director Balaji has already started preparations. The shoot is planned tightly with clear dates and locations.The first schedule will begin in Andheri (Mumbai). Sunny has given bulk dates for the film. The makers want to finish the shoot as smoothly as possible. The idea is to wrap up the entire project by summer 2026.Apart from this action thriller, Sunny Deol also has another important film lined up. He will be seen in the Hindi remake of the Malayalam crime thriller 'Joseph.' The Hindi version is titled 'Soorya.'The film is directed by M. Padmakumar, who also directed the original Malayalam version. The team wrapped up shooting for Soorya in September 2025.After the wrap, director Padmakumar shared a candid photo with Sunny Deol on Instagram and wrote, “Director-actor banter between shots @iamsunnydeol.” The film has already created curiosity among fans of the original 'Joseph,' which had Joju George in the lead.Coming to the present, Sunny Deol starrer 'Border 2' is currently running in theaters.
